The sudden death of Mrs. J.A. MacEwan at her home on Maple Place, at eleven o'clock yesterday morning came as a severe shock to relatives and a host of admiring friends.
The deceased aged 41 years, was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Garrett G. Hoagland.
She was born in Franklin Park, near New Brunswick, coming to KEyport with her parents when a young girl.
Besides the husband, there are four surviving children, Garrett, Douglas J., Arch Jr., and Malcolm.
There are two sisters and one brother surviving, they are MRs. Albert M Haigh and Mrs. Lloyd F. Armstrong, both of Keyport and G. Frederick Hoagland of Flushing, L.I.
Funeral services will be held at the house on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
Internment will be in Green Gove Cemetery.

Mrs. MacEwan was a member of the Keyport Literary Club and the Thought Club.
