Richard D. McDaniel
(March 4, 1921 - October 7, 2010)

Richard D. McDaniel was born March 4, 1921 to Troy and Gladys McDaniel in Cement, Oklahoma. He departed this life on October 7, 2010 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 3 days.

The youngest of four boys, Richard, along with his brothers all became ministers. He attended school in Tuttle, Oklahoma as well as Middleburg. At a young age, his family often traveled to west Texas to work in the cotton fields. At the age of 19 years, Richard was saved at the Friendly Mission Church in Oklahoma City, OK. On September 21, 1942, Richard married Virginia (Crane) McDaniel in Tecumseh, the town where he had originally met her while preaching. To this union 3 daughters and 3 sons were born. Richard served over fifty-two years as a member of the Blanchard Camp Meeting Board and has preached at Camp Meetings in a number of places. He has also pastored many churches through the years. Richard enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, visiting churches and going to camp meetings, fishing, and family gatherings. He and Virginia traveled the nation from coast to coast ministering to others. They've encountered many hardships but always felt the blessings outnumbered the difficult times. They were faithful and diligent in working for the Kingdom of God; they knew one day their waiting would be over, and it is, for they are now both with the Lord.

Richard is preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Virginia, two brothers Ralph, and Clarence, and two grandchildren, Bryan Jean McDaniel , and Ruston. Services are 2PM, Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Bethany Holiness Church in Sand Springs, OK. Interment will follow at Bristow City Cemetery.
