Davenport - Dorothy Mae Thomas, of Davenport, died on Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Fejervary Health Care, Davenport. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Lola Baldwin.

Dorothy was born December 13, 1924, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of John and Lola (Remmick) Snodgrass. She was united in marriage to Richard Thomas on February 19, 1951, in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1983.

She previously was employed at the Hi-Hat and the Handicapped Development Center. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, various crafts, crocheting, playing bingo, and cards. Dorothy has always enjoyed helping others.

Those left to honor her memory include daughters, Sharon Landry and Lola Baldwin, both of Davenport; granddaughters, Charlotta Gilbert, Sweet Home, Ore., and Merrykhal Mack, Muscatine, Iowa; and grandson, Christopher Landry, Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carolyn Sue Ruggles, and sister, Rita Piatt.
