Patrick Boyle, for many years a resident of Lawrence county and of this city, and a soldier in the Civil war passed away early Wednesday morning at the Shenango Valley hospital, where he was taken only last night. He had been in ill-health for a year past, and had been seriously ill for about six weeks, suffering from uraemic poisoning.
The deceased was 64 years of age. He came to this country when he was but 9 years of age and settled in Lawrence county after the Civil War. During the war, he served in the 25th Pennsylvania cavalry. For many years he was in the hotel business and was widely known throughout the city and vicinity. He was identified with the Methodist Episcopal church.
Surviving him are the following children: Thomas L., Miss Jennie M., Miss Effie M., Miss Dora E., John H., and Paul R. Boyle, all of this city. His wife died some years ago.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the residence of his son, Thomas L. Boyle, at the Shenango House, 26 West Washington street. The interment will be at the Eastbrook United Presbyterian cemetery.
