Elmore Dies Suddenly
Louis Blanchard Elmore, 66, well known musician and a past grand chancellor of Indiana Knights of Pythias, died unexpectedly at his home in the Columbian apartments at 7 a.m. Saturday. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Bron in Remington, he was the son of Warner T. and Emma Bartlett Elmore. His mother died March 27. He was married to Bella Morin, March 27, 1906. They moved to Lafayette in 1929 and previously had resided at Monticello, Kentland, Fowler and other towns in this section of the state, directing bands and teaching music. The widow is the only survivor.
He was also a thirty-second degree Mason, and a member of Scottish Rite Shrine Club, and Elks lodge No. 143. He was active in the Central Presbyterian church.
The body was taken to the Rogers and Henderson funeral home where services sere conducted on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. with Dr. W.R. Graham officiating. On Monday a.m. the body was brought to the Howard funeral chapel in Remington where funeral service were conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, with Dr. Graham officiating. Burial was made in the Remington cemetery.
