She graduated from South High School in 1942, and the University of Utah with a bachelor of science in 1946. Margaret married Karl Milton Taft I, on June 7, 1946 in Salt Lake City.
In Salt Lake, Margaret was a member of Cottonwood Presbyterian Church, and charter member of Wasatch Presbyterian Church. In Bicknell, she attended Thurber Ward where she helped with genealogical extraction, and compassionate funeral services. She was an avid reader, and a member of the Bicknell Literary Club. She loved gardening and helping on the Taft sheep ranch in Bicknell.
She is survived by her children, Karl Milton Taft II and Lei of Volcano, Hawaii; Susan Elizabeth Holt and Gayle Lynn of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Dorothy Urbom and Randy of Salt Lake City; Andrew Gillmor Taft and Joni of Bicknell; and Alva Rebecca Bell of Salt Lake City; Utah, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Karl Milton Taft I; her brother Stephen Tecumseh Gillmor II; and her grandson Phillip Scott Hart.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah
