DEATH OF MRS. PHILPOTT.
Mrs. Sarah Jane Philpott died at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. N. Hundley on Gravely Street last Saturday night. She was eighty years old and a member of the Blackberry Baptist Church.
She was married twice, she first married Mr. Thomas J. Philpott and her second marriage was to Mr. Pleasant Preston Claytor.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. C. P. Claytor of Bluefield, W. Va., and Mr. Gordon Claytor of Norfolk, Va., one brother, Dr. W. W. Morris and two sisters, Mrs. J. N. Hundley and Mrs. Bettie E. Forbes of Leaksville, N.C.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the late residence on Gravely Street, and the body was buried in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pleasant married twice afterwards to two Maupin sisters. The two sons mentioned in her obit were stepsons from Pleasants first marriage.
