She graduated from Vermontville High School and came to work at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor. On December 16, 1944 she married her dear husband, Ferris Bond, and they raised a family. During the war Kay worked at Argus as a stenographer, and she later worked at U of M Hospital for many years. She loved home-making and was an avid gardener. Volunteer work was important to Kay throughout her lifetime, and she found very fulfilling work at Neighborhood Senior Services after retiring from U of M. In 1969 she married John Q. Collingwood, and their marriage was one of love and caring for five years. Sruvivors include her daughter, Claudia Lee Deatrick (Brian) of Pinckney and several well-loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Ferris Bond, husband John Collingwood, daughter Andrea Lynn Bond Adkins, four brothers, John, Ronald, Willard, and Miles Hambleton
