DEATH OF JUDGE JOHN ROBSON

Death is no respector of persons; besmites alike the infant in the first moments of its existence, and the aged who had spent his days in usefulness. Thus acting, he has laid his hand on one long known to us; one respected by all who knew him; a citizen, of the citizens, of McIntosh County; a man whose word was his bond; of men, a true man; and as such one of nature's noblemen, we moan our old and true friend, Judge John Robson.

Judge Robson had been unwell for several weeks previous to his death, which regretted incident occurred on the night of the 5th inst., at his residence, about seven miles from Darien. Judge Robson leaves a family of sons and daughters and a wife to mourn his death, and many friends who regret his loss to them. To his family we extend our sincerest condolence. May "He who doeth all things well", give them strength to sustain them in their sore affliction.

O.C. Hopkins Company of the 5th GA Cavalry (McIntosh County Dragoons) lists on its roster Corporal John Robson. Family history has it that several horses were shot out from under him, but he was never injured.
