Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Baptist Church, Durant, for Willie "Bill" Holcomb, 96, who died Friday, October 15, 1999, in Durant. Reverend Terrell Suggs will officiate.

Holcomb was born October 15, 1903, in Hood County, Texas. She married Lorenzo Dow Holcomb on December 10, 1924 in Durant. Holcomb was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Bryan County who loved to sew, cook and sing. She enjoyed taking care of her precious children and attending church was her favorite pastime. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

Holcomb was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight brothers and a sister. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Durant. Pallbearers are Iyla Cross, J. W. Hicks, Bud Herron, Thurman Hooper, Johnnie Corbin, Chuck Osuna, Dennis Bragg. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Tom and Tim Slavin, David and Anthony Pyrum and granddaughters' husbands - John Gaylord, Paul Maenza, Carl Birmingham, Mark Wallis and Todd Spradling. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund. Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
