Services for George Robert Oxsheer Sr., 75, of Kilgore will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2005, at the St. Luke's United Methodist Church with the Reverend Robert Besser officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Oxsheer passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005 at his home surrounded by his wife, family and close friends. He was born January 24, 1930, in Garrison, Texas to W.E. " Bill" Oxsheer and Geneva Dillon Oxsheer. George graduated from Garrison High School at the age of 16. He attended Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin State University. Mr. Oxsheer served our country in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, the Garrison Masonic Lodge 670, and the Texas Forestry Association. Mr. Oxsheer retired from Eastman Kodak after 25 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He loved to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His favorite pastimes included gardening and tree farming in Garrison. Mr. Oxsheer is survived by his wife, Glenda S. Oxsheer of Kilgore; a daughter and son-in-law, Di Anna and Mark Wittig of Gladewater and their children, Trisha Wittig and her fiancé Jeremy Moore, Andrew Wittig, Matthew Wittig; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ginger Oxsheer of Longview and their children, Kelly Oxsheer, Rebecca Oxsheer, Jennifer Oxsheer, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Marcia Oxsheer of Longview and their children, Mason Oxsheer and Carson Luke Oxsheer; nieces, Debra Daughtery of Nacogdoches and her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Michael Crump, Kristi Crenshaw of Garrison and her children, Coy and Dana Crenshaw; cousins, Jim Wood of Huntsville, Franklin Ryder of Sherman, Frank Oxsheer of Alvin. The honorary pallbearers are to be Stacy Adams, Larry Doss, Charlie Hale, Lyle Sedberry, Bob Barton, Robert Strong, Arnold Bramlette, Mack Monday, Richard Reeves and Billy Harris. The family will receive friends between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church of Kilgore or First United Methodist Church of Garrison.
