Elizabeth Campbell was born in Millport, AL. to the late Mark J. Atkins Sr. and Altha Smith Atkins.

Elizabeth Atwood, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 16, after a brave battle with leukemia.

The youngest of four children, Mrs. Atwood was born in Millport, Alabama. Beginning work at eighteen she had a long and distinguished career at Bell South, retiring after 38 years. She then began another career as an auditor for the state of Tennessee.

She taught herself to play the piano and was a very accomplished artist. But, telling others about Jesus, reading and studying her Bible, and being with her family were the most important things to her.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. from Madison Chapel Funeral Home.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann (Bob) Goff; granddaughter, Beth Ann (John) Allen; sister, Jean Cole and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.J. Atwood; brother, M.J. Atkins, Jr.; sister, Fannie Mae Rickman.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Ann Goff, son-in-law, Bob Goff, granddaughter, Beth Ann Allen and husband, John Allen, great graddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Allen, all of Madison, sister Jean Cole of Vernon, Alabama, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Madison Chapel Funeral Home from 2:00 – 3:00 Saturday,June 19, with services following. Burial will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests doantions be made to an organization dear to her heart, The Voice of the Martyrs, P.O. Box 443, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74005-0443.
