John Brunner, 80, one of the pioneer residents of Prairie Island, died at his home this morning at about 11:00, death following a year's illness. He had been confined to his bed since last Thanksgiving Day.
Born at Plum City, Wis., the son of John and Magdalena Brunner on June 29, 1858, he came to this community as a youth, farming for many years. He was a member of the Prairie Island Lutheran church and a man, who had many friends.
Surviving are 17 nieces and nephews. Five brothers, Peter, Paul, David, Fred and Michael, preceded him in death.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock from the Edstrom chapel in this city and at 2:30 o'clock at the Priaire Island Lutheran church with the Rev. A. Martinson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Edstrom chapel from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. tomorrow.
