After the death of her first husband, Richard B. Seay, Willie Jane married Leroy Bristoe Edwards in Dec 1910. Before 1920, they separated and Leroy left the area. When Willie Jane died, she was buried beside her first husband.

Cause of death: Arterio Sclerosis

"Mrs. Willie Jane Edwards, 79, died at a Norfolk hospital [DePaul] yesterday at 12:30 pm. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. W. D. Howard and Mrs. Phil Abrams, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. Thomas W. Howard of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Leroy B. Edwards of Chicago, and Ruben B. Seay, of Norfolk; eighteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Edwards was a native of Appomattox, and had resided in California, Chicago and a number of years in Norfolk, residing at 6046 River Road, Riverpoint. Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow at 3 pm. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery." Virginian-Pilot, May 19, 1955
