Mrs. Charity Jones Shanklin
Charity Jones Shanklin died Friday, July 20, 1984, at the Parkview Convalescent Center in Dyersburg, following a long illness. Services for Mrs. Shanklin, age 90, were held Sunday afternoon, July 22, at the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden with the Rev. Donald Doster officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery near Latham.
Mrs. Shanklin was born June 21, 1894, to the late John F. Jones and Mary Frances Golden. She was the wife of the late Zelodius Roscoe Shanklin. She was a native of Weakley County and member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son; Varon Jones "V.J." Shanklin of Dresden, a daughter; Ida Mildred Shanklin Roddy of Cloverdale, TN, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
