She was the second daughter of Carey Fane Brown and Eva Lucinda Crum. Her mother died when she was three and her father remarried: Flossie May Robinson.

Olive married1 13 Oct 1924 to Earl Carlisle Hanna. She was 19, he was 22. They had two daughters:
Margaret Eloise Hanna (Shurley) 1925 – 1991
Doris H Hanna (DeGani) 1927 –
This marriage ended in divorce.

Olive married2 16 Jul 1941 to Carl Oman Stewart. She was 36, he was 46. Carl had two children by a previous marriage: (Roger and Maxine). They did not have any further children.

Olive was a Christian and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was survived by her daughter Doris DeGani of Beverly Hills CA, her brother Rodney Brown of Bloomington IN, her two sisters Pearl Jenson of Bloomington IN and Neta Taylor of Indianapolis, as well as three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both her first husband Earl Hanna, and her second husband Carl Stewart, and by her daughter Margaret Shurley.
