Charlotte Josephine Rench Marshall Charlotte Josephine Rench, age 96, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Battle Creek on April 25, 1914 to Earl and Ruby Doty. Charlotte graduated from Battle Creek Central and for a short time she worked at the Kellogg Company. She and her husband farmed for 50 years, milking cows and selling eggs. Upon retirement they wintered in Punta Gorda, FL and enjoyed many years there. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty two years Gar C. Rench, one son Harold W. Rench and one stepson Gar L. Rench. She is survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a member of D A R, Daughters of 1812 and the Convis Union United Methodist Church. Services 12 noon, Monday, October 18, 2010 at Burr Oak Cemetery, Athens with Pastor Sue Ann Hagen officiating. Memorials may be directed to Breast Cancer Awareness Fund, Battle Creek Health System, 300 North Ave., Battle Creek, MI 49017 or the Convis Union United Methodist Church, 18890 Twelve Mile Rd., Battle Creek, MI 49014.
