William Dallas Koontz died Friday, June 12, about 4 o'clock p.m., aged 54 years, 2 months and 20 days, of acute heart trouble. The funeral will be held at the house under the auspices of the Elks. Interment in Oakwood cemtery [sic].

Deceased was born in Virginia in 1854, coming to Illinois in 1874. He settled in McDonough county, Emmet township, and remained there until 1902, when he moved his family to Macomb. In 1876 he was married to Lucy P. Painter, who died in 1903 [sic]. To this union four children were born. Carrie, who died in 1880, Charles A., Emmet township, Goldie and Harry at home.

He was married to Annie V. Burner in 1905 and to them was born one child, Mary Ellen, who is at home.

Deceased was several years a prominent business man, taking part in the movements to build up the town. He was a kind husband and loving father, and the family has the sympathy of all in this time of bereavement.

His father is still living in Stanley, Va.
