Ida Katherine was the wife of John Louis Salkeld of Gerald, Saskatchewan. Ida and husband John built a beautiful stone house on the West side of the Cutarm Valley near Gerald, Saskatchewan. She passed away March 5th / 1925 as the result of a stroke. Her granddaugter Maurine, who was in one of the head slieghs described the funeral pocession as a steady stream of sleighs from the tip of one side of the Cut Arm Valley and up the other side. Ida and John had two children Addie who became Mrs. Peter Cropp and Rae who married Effie Park.
