Charlotte was my beautiful maternal Great-Grandmother, and I love and admire her very much. She was married at a young age, had 14 children who lived to be adults and lived to be 98 years old herself! She outlived her husband, who was older, and four of her children. The oldest of her children was my grandmother, Ella Eliza Conant Battenfield. I recently became aware of a 15 child who did not live more than a few months.

According to information from my mother, Charlotte never weighed more that 108 pounds her whole life. I remember her as a tiny lady, and I do mean "Lady". At the time of her death she had 37 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren. Sometimes, when I feel let down or depressed, I remember that I am descended from this woman, and I gain strength from that. My grandmother, who was the oldest of Charlotte's children, was strong too.

Charlotte's funeral was held Tuesday, January 26, 1965 at 8:00 P.M. Rev. Kearney Kirkby officiating. Burial in Almer Cemetery, Caro, Michigan. Almer Cemetery is located at the SW corner of M81 (E. Caro Rd.) and E. Deckerville Rd., Caro, MI.
