Joseph is the son of Joseph Burl Benner and Nellie P Patterson. He married Izola Mae Weaver on 24 Jun 1945 in Grant Co., Indiana.

They were later divorced and she remarried a Joseph Roof. However, they now rest side by side in this IOOF cemetery.

Joseph G. Benner

LaFontaine, Ind. (Spl.) - Funeral services for Joseph G. Benner, a resident here for many years, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in LaFontaine Methodist Church. Burial will be in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery at Marion.

Mr. Benner, a native of Sweetser who was in business here with his father at the LaFontaine Lumber Company, died Wednesday in Robert W. Long Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 38 years old.

Mr. Benner was a member of LaFontaine Methodist Church, the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, the Masonic Lodge, and the Lions Club.

Friends may call at the Brenneman and Hunter Funeral Home here after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Izola Benner; a son, Robert Benner; and the parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Burrl Benner.
