His parents were natives of Kentucky and among the first settlers of Kentucky. They emigrated to Illinois in 1851.
His father died and was buried in *Greene County*. His mother remarried a John McCollum of Macoupin County.
Abraham grew up there.
Abraham married Sarah E. Turner in Greene County, Illinois on
December 3, 1871.
