Mildred L. Holtz, age 82, of Lowell, IN, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2008.
She is survived by her three daughters; Joyce (Henry) Henke, Becky (Marte) Mathas, and Virginia Mader all of Lowell. 11 grandchildren; Tammy (Jim) Outler, Tim (Jennifer) Henke, Greg (April) Nichols, Scott (Carrie) Nichols, Kevin (Michelle) Nichols, and Erin (Nina) Nichols, Ryan Mathas, Mindy (Mete) Ugur, Matt (Brandi) Mader, Meredith Mader, and Molly Mader. 21 great grandchildren; Trevor and Lydia Outler, Emily, Olivia, Alexa and Grace Henke, Stanley, Nicholas, Christy, Jerry, Derek, Dakota, Anna, Jordan, Mackenzie, Jasmin, and Brandon Nichols, Katie Mathas, Eva and Gigi Ugar, and Brilee Mader, one great great grandaughter Mariah Smith, sister, Dele (Clay) Hatler of Nobelsville brothers, Orville Corns and Edgar (Darlene) Corns both of Lowell, sister in law, Joan Corns of Lowell, numerous nieces and nephews, and long time friend Bob Mader.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Howard J. Holtz, parents Robert (Hazel) Corns, and siblings; Alma Corns, Frank Corns, Rene Cloninger, and Marshall Corns.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m., at the Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN. Pastor Charles Hochmuth officiating.
Burial will follow at Lowell Memorial Cemetery in Lowell. Friends are invited to call on Monday from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mildred worked side by side with her husband on the Holtz Farm for many years. She was a member of the Lowell Church of Christ, Lowell Woman's Club, Indian Trail Grange, and the Historical Agricultural Society. Mildred was very proud to be called a Kentucky Colonel, and she made the best chicken and noodles in the world. Memorials may be sent in Mildred's name to the Pink Ribbon Society of Northwest Indiana.
