Chris Nanenburg Passed Away Friday
Chris Nauenburg was born on October: 17, 1891, at Columbus, Nebr., and passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 1955 at his home near Cedar Rapids, Nebr, at the age of 64 years, one month and 29 days, A coronary thrombosis was the cause of his death.

He war the son of John and Elisabeth Nauenburg. He spent his boyhood in Platte County, Nebraska. In 1902 he came to Cedar Rapids.

In his infancy he was baptized at Columbus and in 1906 he was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.

He was married to Veva Melvin on June 4, 1918 at Fullerton. One son, Harold, was born to this union.

After the marriage he lived near Elgin, until he was drafted for the First World War. Since then he has been engaged in farming around Cedar Rapids, with the exception of one year in which he spent at Wray, Colo.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Veva, son Harold, daughter-in-law, Nadine and two grandchildren, Cheryl and Lynn; three sisters, Mrs. M. O. Purdy, Primrose; Mrs. Fred Perry, Oakville, Wash.; and Mrs. Joe Wallberg, National City, Calif.; one brother, Fred, Portland, Ore. and several nieces and nephews and other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 10, 1955, pt St. John's Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. Vernon Fasse officiating. Muslc was furnished by the ladies choir composed of Mrs. Emil Meustorn, Janice Paalman, Mrs. Walter Meusborn, Mrs. Paul Hunt, Alberta Franzen and Mrs. Harold Orshek. Mrs. Fred Orshek accompanied at the organ. Lester Bourn, Jr. and Billy Bourn were ushers. The pallbearers were Gerald Malander, Claude Green, Ben Rolf, Louis Casper, Ter Sronce, and Earl Wolfe. The interment was made at the Sunset Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. Mr. R. R. Braasch was the funeral director.
