Cymbylene Gowen, age 79 years, of 9135 Burkesville Road, Columbia, KY the Sparksville Community passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 2:05 A. M. at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky. after an illness. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison & Mackie Coomer Brown and the widow of Herbert Gowen who preceded her in death on March 1, 1992. She is survived by one daughter: Connie Scott of Columbia, KY; one brother, Calvin Brown of Columbia, KY; four sisters, Alice Coomer, Claudia Coomer, Lenora Parrish and Audra Campbell of Columbia, KY; one half-sister, Faye Bault of Columbia, KY; two Grandchildren: Natasha Kohlmann and her husband John, and Clint Scott; two great grandchildren, Jack and Anna Belle Kohlmann. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends also survive. Mrs. Gowen was preceded in death by three brothers Duleth Brown, Herbert Brown and Roscoe Brown. Mrs. Gowen was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church and a retired factory worker. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Antioch United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronnie Dooley and Bro. Lonny Karnes officiating. Interment in Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Russell Coomer, Ritchie Coomer, Larry Brown, Steve Campbell, Brent Campbell, and Donnel Walker.
