Lee C. Chamness served as a Technician 5th Grade in the 669th Engineer Company, United States Army during World War II.

He was a son of Rex Levere Chamness and Priscilla Mae Barker.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 15, 1940 at Dayton, Ohio.

He was originally from Menifee County, Kentucky.

Soon after his birth, his parents moved to Dayton, Ohio. Records show that he had changed his middle name from Vitus to Carl.

He enlisted in the Army at Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. His occupation was listed as photographer.

He moved to Maryland with his wife, Catherine, in the late 1950s.
