June Ledelle Thomas, 70, of Hitchcock, Texas, passed away Friday, October 1, 2010, at Cornerstone Hospital in Webster. June was born June 1, 1940, to Clyde and Lily Mae Blakeley, in Fostoria, TX. June is a member of Good Sam's Club – Sand Dollar Sam's and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Hitchcock. June worked 10 years at UTMB as a secretary. She also worked for Farmers Insurance for Howard Insurance Agency. June is preceded in death by her husband Paul Thomas. She is survived by one daughter: Keri Cook and husband Barry of Santa Fe, TX; two sons: Kevin Thomas of Houston, TX and Keith "Bo" Thomas of Hitchcock, TX; 5 grand children: Alyssa Cook, Kahla Cook, Matthew Thomas, Morgan Thomas, and Jordon Thomas; and a special friend Ena Hughes. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2010, with a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. at James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Nelson Howard, Ronald Bodine, Bill Bischof, Wayne Maxwell, Walter "Boney" Lisbony and Clifford Reed. Serving as honorary pall bearers are W. E. "Bill" Alford, James "Pete" Blakeley, Felix Dezengotita, and Henry Wulf. Internment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, Hitchcock, TX. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
