Son of Lewis Corder Anthony and Nancy (Kerby) Anthony.
Husband of Susan Ann (Robinson) Anthony.

Joined the MSG (Missouri State Guard) in 1861, where he enlisted in Gen. Price's Forces that were camped along the Sac River in St. Clair county. About Dec. 22nd, 1861, Anderson was made an aid-de-camp of Gen. Sterling Price. This lasted only a week due to his dissatisfaction of a fellow officer, where he resigned. He served with Price until after the Battle of Pea Ridge, and his term of service expired shortly after. He then returned to north of the Missouri River.
