Graveside services for Mary Mae (Beam) Miller, 78, of Caldwell, who died Friday, Aug.22 at a Caldwell Nursing home will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Marsing/Homedale Cemetery by the Rev. Clare Willcuts, chaplain of Sunny Ridge Manor, Nampa, udner the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
Mrs. Miller was born Feb. 15, 1908 at Pryor, Indian Territory, Oklahoma, to James Wesley and Alice Freeman Rush. She was reared in Oklahoma.
She married William L. Beam April 8, 1923 in Longmont, Colorado. They lived in Oklahoma, Missouri and Colorado before moving to Caldwell in 1940. The moved to the Dixie area in 1944 and to Poplar Bluff, Mo., in 1949. Mr. Beam died in 1949.
She moved to Homedale in 1949 and Caldwell in 1959. She married Edward W. Miller Sept. 6, 1960 at Caldwell. They moved to Madras, Ore., where she lived until Mr. Miller died in 1976. She returned to the Caldwell/Homedale area, where she had since resided.
She enjoyed fishing, reading, crocheting and being with her friends and family.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Grandma's Club and Homedale Senior Citizens.
She is survived by four sons, Harvey Beam of Nampa, Bill L. Beam of Madras, George (Jim) T. Beam of Melba and Joseph R. Beam of Okinawa, Japan; five daughters, Betty June Miller of Metolius, Ore., Jewell Baker of Wilder, Opal Ward of Grandview, Alice Ames of LaPine, Ore., and Molly Faith O'Connor of Caldwell; two brothers, James Rush of Missouri and Felix Rush of Sun City, Ariz.; two sisters, Bertha Thorson of Caldwell and Della Wheeler of Waterloo, Iowa; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and severl great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Flahiff Chapel, Homedale, from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
