NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 4, 1937(U.P.)--Hope that two Navy fliers survived the crash of their plane in the ocean near Virginia Beach Wednesday night was abandoned today by Coast Guard and the Navy.
A search extending two miles inland from the spot where the plane carrying Aviation Cadet J. J. Jones of Washington and Machinist Mate Troy W. Blanton, LaFayette, Ala., crashed proved futile. Rough seas prevented attempts to drag for the fuselage of the plane.
