David Stout Ramey, son of Judge James S Ramey & Elizabeth Kindred, moved to the Pettis County area in the mid 1820's. David donated the ground for the Blackwater Methodist Church and the Blackwater Chapel Cemetery. He was the husband of Eliza Gwinn Rice Ramey.
