Ethel Marie Weekley Gibson, 93, of Battle Creek, formerly of Owosso, died Thursday, February 6, 2003, at Calhoun County Medical Facility. She was born September 22, 1909, in Sandyville, West Virginia, to Edward & Alice (Daley) Angus. She was raised in Sandyville, where she lived until moving to Owosso, Michigan, in 1952, then in 1971, she moved to Battle Creek.

She was married in West Virginia, June of 1928 to Talmage C. Weekley. He preceded her in death November 18, 1962. She was preceded in death by her second husband Leslie M. Gibson, August 13, 1988. A son, Raymond Leon Weekley, four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Elsie (Vaughan) Drummonds of Battle Creek and Stuart Florida, Naomi (Pete) Sandberg of Stuart, Florida, Karen (Dick) Grosteffon of Battle Creek, three sons, Don (Mary) Weekley of Owosso, Roger (Cheryl) Weekley of Mount Pleasant, Larry Weekley of Battle Creek, fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lucille Maddox of Sandyville, West Virginia, and Edith Williams of Parkersburg, West Virginia. She was a homemaker and formerly was a member of First Wesleyan Church and Garrison Hills Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed helping others and always lived by the following motto; "Others Lord, Yes Others, Let this my motto be: Help me to live for Others, That I might live for Thee".

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 1:00-3:00 p.m. and Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2003. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Owosso. Memorial contributions may be made to First Wesleyan Church for the Missions or the Patient Activity Fund at Calhoun County Medical Car Facility. The family of Ethel Marie Weekley Gibson wants to express our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful care the staff provided Ethel at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
