Mrs. Louise B. Costello, 71, of 419 Vermont St., died at 4:30a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Hospital of a heart attack.
She was born Louise Sippel on June 9, 1899 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Claude and Geneive Sherwood Sippel. She was married to Louis Costello in 1924 in Waterloo.
Mrs. Costello was deputy county recorder for Black Hawk County for 28 years until she retired 9 years ago.
She served as a Yoemanette stationed in Washington, D.C. during World War I. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, BPW and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. James M. Abbott of Charles City; one stepson, Phil Costello of Ediina Minn.; and 12 grandchildren.
