Having lived her entire life in Pulaski County among her friends and relatives, whom she loved so well, Mrs. Clayton Nelson, the former Miss Emma Jane Vaughn passed away after a brief illness. Beautiful flowers of the Spring were heaped about her casket. Mrs. Nelson was 66 years of age. She was married to Mr. Nelson 47 years ago and is survived by four sons, three of them residing in the county and numbered among its prominent citizens, J. D. Nelson, Alfred Nelson and Grady Nelson, one son in Tallahassee, Fla., Russell Nelson, a daughter of Trenton, Tenn., Mrs. Toy Alford. Three brothers, E. W. Vaughn, of Abbeville, H. D. Vaughn, of Fitzgerald, and R. L. Vaughn, of Dooly county, ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survived. In the passing of this gentle lady Pulaski sees another of its best citizens go to her reward. In thought and action she typified goodness. As she joins the innumerable caravan of the just, she leaves with her hundreds of friends the memory of one who fought for the cause of right. These join her upright sons in mourning her death.
