The daughter of Johann "John" Klockenkemper and Maria "Mary" Snyders, Lena married Charles J. "Carl" Beismann on 10 Jun 1884 in Calhoun County, Illinois. He was the son of German immigrants named Charles Joseph "Karl" Beisman, Sr. and Amalia Reinwald.

Lena and Carl were the parents of 10 children, however, several died in infancy or early childhood. Carl was a farmer, but later worked as a laborer for the Fairbanks Soap Company.

At the time of her death due to heart and kidney disease, Lena was 82 years, 10 months and 11 days old.

She was survived by 1 son, Carl Beisman of Batchtown, Illinois; 3 daughters, Catherine Oheim of Dallas, Texas, Ada Oheim and Agnes Martin, both of Sappington, Missouri; 2 sisters, Katie McGuire and Mary Ratliff; and many extended family members.

In addition to her mother and father, Lena was preceded in death by 1 sister, Annie Caselton.

Funeral services began at Ziegenhein Brothers Mortuary in St. Louis, Missouri at 9:30 a.m. on the morning of 14 Sep 1946 and proceeded to Church of Seven Holy Founders.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, who passed away from tuberculosis in 1920. They share a headstone.
