LeRoy David Buckley
A celebration of life will be held for LeRoy David Buckley, 31, of Coquille at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 27, at the Coquille High School gym, 499 W. Central Ave.
LeRoy was born Aug. 1, 1978, in Coos Bay, the son of David W. and Brenda K. (Lewis) Buckley. He died Sept. 9, 2009, near Delta, Utah.
He had lived in Indiana, Texas, Illinois, Wisconsin and Oregon, where he graduated from Coquille High School, Class of 1997. He joined the U.S. Army right after graduation and was in the U.S. Army Airborne, Special Forces. He was stationed in Afghanistan for three tours. He had attained the rank of drill sergeant at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri before his death.
LeRoy is survived by his fiance´Tiffany Finch and son, Jayden Braun of St. Robert, Mo.; mother, Brenda Menning of Powers; sister, Louisa Johnson of Coos Bay; niece, Destiny Mouser of Coos Bay; two brothers, Louis Johnson and Billy Lewis-Kubisiak of Austin, Texas; sister, Treasa Buckley of California; nice, Maricia Dollerhide of Myrtle Point; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin and Viola Buckley of Coquille and LeRoy and Geoigia Lewis of Buda, Texas; sister, Darlean Buckley of Myrtle Point; father, David W. Buckley of Coquille; and stepfather, Louis Johnson of Austin, Texas.
