25 Nov 1905: Mrs. Mary Eyanson, better known as "Polly" Eyanson, widow of the late Samuel Eyanson, died this morning at her home, 406 North Tenth Street, of general debility, resulting from old age. Her last Illness extended over a period of nine weeks, but she had been in failing health for some time previous, being confined to bed at different periods. She was aged 83 years, and Is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Amos Hartman and Mrs. Mary Hartman, both of this city; a son, Charles A., and a sister, Miss Lydia Aurentz, of North Lebanon Township. There are 11 grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Her husband died about 15 years ago. The deceased was born and raised in the northern part of this county. For over 60 years, she lived in the frame dwelling at Tenth and Lehman Streets, in which she died. Through many years of hard work on her part it became her property. Though her energy was not rewarded with many of the comforts or material things of life which her hard work merited, she gathered a rich reward in the love and esteem of her friends. She was beloved by all who knew her. Her cheerful demeanor at all times regardless of discouragements was an inspiration to those who came into contact with her, and her home was one of the brightest of abodes. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and was known to almost every member of the congregation. [Lebanon Daily News]
