He was 21 and the son of William and Alice Emily Myers of 1 Gotts Park Avenue, Leeds.

TWO LEEDS MEN KILLED
India Bound Plane Hits Hillside
Two Leeds men were Killed in the Devonshire air disaster, in which a Liberator, India bound with 27 Soldiers and crew on board, crashed into Blackdown Hill, nr Honiton in thick fog.
The plane was carrying troops returning from leave.
One of the crew was P O Gordon Jenkins Myers (21), son of Mr and Mrs W Myers, Gotts Park Avenue, Armley. As Second pilot he had already made two trips to India. He was posted to Merryfield Aerodrome, nr Ilminster, only a fortnight ago.
PO Myers was a former member of 168 squadron, Leeds A.T.C. After a short course at Southampton, under the A.T.C training scheme, he went to Canada, where he passed his pilot's course with Honours, and after a further course at Nassau, he went to Northern Ireland.
On leaving West Leeds High School he began work with the Union Assurance Company, Park Row. His father is assistant manager at Carvers Ltd, removal and storage contractors, wellington Street.
