To them nine children were born, all of whom survive their parents, Mr. Wenzel having preceded is wife in death five years. She is also survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Jacob Bernhardt of Quincy, now 92 years of age, four brothers and two sisters namely: Conrad Bernhardt, of Wilcox township, Adolph, Victor and Frank Bernhardt, and Mrs. F. Interment in the Catholic Cemetery.

Please note: Although Katherine's obit and headstone give her birth year as 1846, family Bible records have it listed as November 1845 instead. Given the birth date of Katherine's other siblings in reference to the birth year listed in our family records, it would seem that the birth year of 1845 instead of 1846 is also more accurate.
