MANTACHIE – Eunie Cox Turner, 96, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at the Simerson House at the Cedars in Tupelo. She was born March 5, 1913, to R.A. and Hettie Chism Cox. She was retired from the Mantachie High School Cafeteria. She was a charter member of the Mantachie Church of Christ. She loved her family, flowers, gardening and crocheting.

A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Paul Swindle, Greg Swindle and Larry Lott officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Turner Sr., on April 1, 1999; her parents; one grandson, Timothy Swindle; and 15 siblings, including her brother, Everett Wilder Cox, who died the same day.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home
