ACKLEY - Anona Mae Knipfel, 79, of Ackley, died Thursday, Oct. 7, at Presbyterian Village, Ackley.
She was born Feb. 19, 1931, in rural Parkersburg, daughter of Christian and Annie Stopplemoor Kruger. On March 3, 1949, she married Harley Knipfel at St. John's Church parsonage. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Knipfel graduated from rural Parkersburg schools.
Survived by: two daughters, Shirley Mae Blaisdell and Diane Kay (Robert) Younker, both of Ackley; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Leona Decknadel of Parkersburg, Jennie Van Hauen of Grundy Center, Gertie (Elmer) Eiklenborg of Dike and Ruth Wendt of Aplington.
Preceded in death by: three brothers and a sister-in-law, Chris and Annie Kruger, Klass and Harm Kruger; and two sisters and five brothers-in-law, Marie and Louie Pruin and Berdene and Jerry Bolhuis, Edward Decknadel, Jake Van Haven and Kenneth Wendt.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's United Church of Christ, with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery, both in Ackley. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Sietsema Funeral Home, Ackley.
