A letter received from W. L. Davis, of Leadville, Colo., relates the death of his mother, Mr. J.R. Davis at her home in Linton, N. Dak., June 18, 1909, aged 60 years, one month and 24 days.

Deceased was a daughter of the late Moses Chase and a sister of J. W. Chase of this village. Bristol was her girlhood home, and there she was married to J. R. Davis, Sept. 26th, 1871. After marriage they settled on a farm in Bristol now known as the Brooks's farm. Here they resided for seven or eight years. They then removed to Iowa, where they lived for several years with the exception of some time spent in Racine and Sun Prairie, Wis. They then moved to Spokane, Wash, and later to Linton, N. Dak., where she died.

Three children, Reba Davis, R. M. Davis and W. L. Davis, and the husband are the surviving members of the family. Besides those the deceased leaves three brothers, J. W. Chase, of Sun Prairie, Frank A. and J.R. Chase, of Spokane, one sister, Mrs. John Madden, of Spokane, and her aged mother, Mrs. Moses Chase, who was with her at the end.

Funeral services were held at Linton, Monday, June 21st, and the remains taken to Spokane, where the interment was made following services there on Thursday, the 24th.
