Leo J. Baus, 80, of St. Cloud died Friday, Dec. 5, 1986, at Villa Loretto Nursing Home, Mount Calvary, following a lingering illness.

Mr. Baus was born Aug. 7, 1906 (Aug 6, 1906 in Wisconsin Birth Index) to George and Louisa Gilles Baus at rural St. Cloud. He attended Elder Grove and St. Cloud Catholic grade schools, St. Cloud. On Oct. 2, 1928, he married Lucy Loehr at Dotyville. They farmed in the Dotyville are, Town of Greenbush, and Town of Forest until retirement in 1968, when they moved to St. Cloud. Mr. Baus was then employed part time at Feldner Chevrolet, St. Cloud. He was a member of th St. Cloud Catholic Church and a former member of the Holy Name Society at Armstrong Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jerome of Mount Calvary, Anthony of St. Cloud, and Leo D of Fond du Lac, two daughters, Mrs. William (Ann Marie) Wergin of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Francis (Cecilia) Petrie of Glenbeulah; two brothers, Martin and Carl, both of Fond du Lac; 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud and at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Cloud Catholic Church. The Rev. Arthur Nickolai will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
