JoEllen, 44, of Spring Lake passed away, Friday, in Traverse City, Michigan. She was born to Max and JoAnne (Cross) Coon. JoEllen was a 1983 graduate of Cedar Lake Academy, she then attended Bryant College of Providence R.I., graduating in 1988. She worked as a CPA and later became a teacher. JoEllen was a pilot and loved to golf. She is survived by her husband James Milas, a daughter Kelsey Coon, her parents Max and JoAnne Coon, a sister Patricia Markoff, and two brothers Jeff Coon, and Max Andrew Coon. She was preceded in death by a sister Jill Coon. The memorial service was held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Lansing Seventh Day Adventist Church, with Pastor Charles Hanlon officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
