Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Pigott, 80, passed away about 7 o'clock Tuesday evening, April 20, 1954, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hayden Goodley.
She was born December 16, 1873 in Somersetshire County, England, the daughter of Elizabeth Wood and Francis James Rich. The family came to America in 1879.
She was united in marriage to Allie Gustafson who passed away in 1907. She was then married to William Pigott and they made their home in rural Malta. Mr. Pigott died about two years ago and since that time, Mrs. Pigott made her home with her daughter in Sycamore.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Hayden Goodley, Sycamore; one son, Harold Gustafson, DeKalb; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Francis John Rich in Canada, Tom Rich of Clare, William Rich of DeKalb, Alfred Rich of DeKalb, and Charles Rich of Sycamore; and two sisters, Mabel Emily Bridger, Sycamore, and Nellie Lambert, DeKalb.
Mrs. Pigott was quote active in St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She was also past worthy matron of Dustin Chapter No. 365 of the Order of the Eastern Star and past worthy high priestess of the DeKalb White Shrine.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Rev. Norman Burke of Rockford officiating. Interment will be in the Malta Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kebil-Coultrip Funeral Home until noon on Friday.
