EDWIN BAILEY DIES AT HOME
FUNERAL FOR LONGTIME RESIDENT TO BE FRIDAY
Edwin Clark Bailey, 80 a resident of the Red Oak vicinity for three quarters of a century, died Wednesday morning at 6:35 a.m at the home of his son, Russell H. Bailey, three miles northeast of the city He was ill about 11 months.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church, with Rev. Orval E. Walker in charge. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.
Born July 4, 1861 at Tyrone Station in Monroe County, Iowa, Mr. Bailey was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bailey. The family came here in 1864 and except for a short time in Oregon, Mr. Bailey had lived in this community all his life. He was married January 27, 1892 to Anna Kassell, who died November 1, 1939.
Survivors are four sons; Russell, Millard, and Clarke Bailey of Red Oak and Marion Bailey of Stanton; two daughters, Mrs. William Young and Mrs. O. J. Martin of Red Oak; two brothers, George A. Bailey of Red Oak and Benjamin of Wapato, Washington and one sister, Matilda Davidson of Grants Pass, Oregon; 14 grandchildren. A daughter, Fairy died in 1918.
Pall bearers will be Paul Ogden, Oscar W. Erickson, Robert Oliver, Bernard Docker, John Rossander, Carl Stocksleger. Flowers will be cared for by Gladys Ogden, Maxine Raymond, Hazel Anderson. The Sellergren Funeral Home is in charge.
