Alvin Smith, The son of Connie (Stanfield) and Isaac Shelton Smith.
He first married Nancy Elizabeth Ledbetter, whom he met when his family moved from Campbell County, Tennessee to Madison County, Arkansas. They married about 1894 and they had four children: Virgil, Homer, Bulah, and Everett. The first two were born in Arkansas and the last two were born in Oklahoma Territory. It is assumed that Elizabeth (Ledbetter) Smith died during child birth with Everett.
Per the 1910 census, he married Joanna Pease in 1907 and they had a child, Ruby L. Smith, in 1909.
When he registered for the WWI draft in 1918, he was married to divorcee, Zana (Ledbetter-cousin to first wife) Reed. In the 1920 census, Alvin's family consisted of Everett (from first wife), Ruby (from 2nd wife), Hattie and Alvin Jr (children from current marriage), and Zana's two sons from her first marriage, Omer and William (Bill) Reed. By 1930, Zanie and Alvin had three more children: Noble J, Ted R, and Connie L.
Alvin lived most of his adult life in Cherokee County, Oklahoma.
