Eddie Carroll Newman, 55, of Galax, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at Roanoke Memorial Cancer Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Nov. 17, 1949, in Carroll County to Paul A. and Verla Lineberry Newman.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Lineberry Newman of Galax; his mother, Verla Newman Stoneman of Woodlawn; two daughters and son-in-law, Melissa and Wade Marion and Holly and Hank Testerman, all of Galax; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Lanessa Sharp of Collinsville and Brad and Angela Sharp of Princeton, W.Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shelia and Buford Mabe of Aurora, Ill.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Barbara Newman of Austinville and Joe and Martha Newman of Cummings, Ga.; four granddaughters; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Saturday at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home with burial in the Hebron Cemetery. The Rev. David Moore officiated.
