Burial will be in Springville Cemetery with Ridout's Trussville Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Wallace died Thursday, February 6, 2003, at his home. He was born August 30, 1937, in Decatur to John E. Wallace and Julia Weatherwax Wallace. He was a 1955 graduate of Decatur High School and a 1960 graduate of The University of Alabama. He was a livestock dealer and owned and operated Wallace Stockyard in Ashville from 1965 to 1990. He was an active member of Springville United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He was the father of the late David Wright Wallace and the brother of the late John Thomas Wallace.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Bettye Anne Wright Wallace; two sons, Andy Wallace of Birmingham and Mitch Wallace of Springville; two daughters, Lee Anne Roberts and Julie Wise, both of Springville; one brother, Harold Wallace of Decatur; two sisters, Nell Clem and Betty Thrasher, both of Decatur; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
