WILL HURDLE DIES AT MT. PLEASANT HOME
Prominent Farmer Succumbs To Six Weeks Illness
James William Hurdle, age 70 [sic], prominent farmer of the Mt. Pleasant community died at his home in Mt. Pleasant Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. after an illness of six weeks.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. W. B. May, assisted by the Rev. Edward L. Byrd. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Mr. Hurdle was born in Slayden and was the son of the late John Hurdle and Margaret Watkins Hurdle. He married Linwood Blair who survives him. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, J. W. Hurdle Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Mrs. L. C. Harmon, Memphis; three brothers, J. G. Hurdle of Taylor, J. C. Hurdle of Mt. Pleasant and J. F. Hurdle of Holly Springs; three sisters, Mrs. J. B. Boswell and Mrs. A. E. Curl, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Marvin Jarvis, Slayden.
